Start of a non-stop everyday Transeuropa Lublin for social change

We've decided not to conclude the Festival, but continue it in a situationist everyday way of a non-stop countercultural action for social change: On Sunday 15 May at UN Social Programme, Transeuropa Lublin held a set of discussions on actions for transnational Lublin, Jewish and Ukrainian communities in this city, and problems faced by refugees and migrants. Chechen refugees presented their precarious situation: they face exclusion, unemployment, problems with education and residence. The Chechens feel neglected by Lublin municipal institutions.

Kamil Raczynski depicted the transnational activities of Amnesty International Lublin whereas Pani Ania reflected on the social cooperative which she founded with other Lubliners threatened by unemployment. Philosopher Vitalij Padalka presented the Ukrainian community of this city whereas historian Robert Kuwalek, author of many publications and former Kosciuszko scholar at Washington's Holocaust Museum, spoke on Jewish Lublin and particularly of the role of women therein. At Tektura Alternative Collective, Jewish-French-Lublin poet Adrien Gros presented his poetry on looking for the Jewish heritage of this city and his own roots here.

We were visited by a young Austrian journalist and artist Katharina Winiecki who came to Lublin to report on the queer aspect of the Festival.
